I Didn't Know How Bad I Felt...

✨Long, but worth the read, I promise!

⠀⠀

I haven’t always been so health and fitness conscious, in fact, one of the most unhealthy times in my life was only 6 years ago.

⠀⠀

In 2012 I separated from my (then) husband. It was one of the most difficult and heartbreaking times in my life, and I did not handle it well at all.

⠀⠀

I started going out every weekend, which led to:

>>> binge drinking every weekend

⠀⠀

>>> drinking a beer or two during the week

⠀⠀

>>> drinking every day of the week + binge drinking on the weekends

⠀⠀

>>> drinking every day of the week + plus a bottle of wine 1-3x per week (by myself) + binge drinking every weekend

⠀⠀

>>> all of that + going out during the week

⠀⠀

>>> which led to black outs, ending up at random peoples houses, still being drunk the next morning when I showed up for work, showing up 3 hours late for work still drunk, and something that I am not proud of at all (not that I’m proud of any of it) - drunk driving. (My aunt was killed by a drunk driver...what the hell was I doing😞???)

⠀⠀

As you can imagine, my nutrition was absolute shit too, and this cycle lasted for about 8 months. 8 freaking months!!!

⠀⠀

Ironically enough, it was my ex-husband who encouraged me to look for motivation/inspiration on instagram to try and help get myself back on track. (He was going through something very similar and was also trying to pull himself out of this funk).

⠀⠀

Long story short, I found an online coach and hired her. I followed a meal plan, ate “clean”, consistently worked out, and did not have one drop of alcohol for an entire month!

⠀⠀

You guys, I HAD NO IDEA HOW BAD I FELT UNTIL I FELT GOOD AGAIN!

⠀⠀

This was a HUGE eye opener for me! I had worked out sporadically while I was going through my excessive drinking phase, you know - to sweat out all the alcohol *insert major eye roll here*. But it wasn’t until I dialed in my nutrition that I realized just how important (and key) it was to my overall health.

⠀⠀

I’ve learned A LOT since then, moving away from ultra restrictive and super low calorie meal plans, for example. But hey, I’m thankful for that experience because even though it wasn’t a sustainable plan, it changed my life and helped get me back on track. Things happen for a reason, even if you don’t see it right away. ;)

⠀⠀

My life is very different today. I’ve found a healthy balance that works for me, and I learned what is/is not sustainable for me (through trial and error - but hey, you don’t know what you don’t know #AmIRight)

⠀⠀

Going through this experience myself was a driving factor that led me to my purpose; helping those of you that may have gone through similar experiences, or who just feel like you need some guidance, direction, and accountability.

⠀⠀

Our stories and our journeys may not be the same, but we’ve all experienced some type of hardship that either directly or indirectly led to us falling way off track. I empathize with you in that way so much.

⠀⠀

Regardless of your story or where you’re at in your journey, ✨I am here for you and would love to find a way to help however I can.✨

⠀⠀

I want you to experience just how good you can feel too!
